"Invicta FM first went on air in October 1984 as Invicta Sound. We relaunched as Invicta Radio in 1985 and became known as Invicta FM a few years later.

In 1991 we moved to Whitstable and shortly after were acquired by Southern Radio, which became part of the Capital Radio Group in 1994. In 2005 Capital Radio Group merged with GWR to form GCap Media Plc, Europe's largest commercial radio group."

During 2008, Invicta FM used the services of Smile and had the following to say:

"We had a fantastic day out on "Smile".  The boat is fantastic, the sailing brilliant and onboard hospitality was absolutely great.  We were able to see the Kent coastline the offshore forts and wind farm up close and l would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this as a great way of doing corporate hospitality - or just having a great day out !"
