Your charter, regardless of itinerary, will be 'Skippered' by a commercially endorsed RYA/MCA Yachtmaster, who will also be certificated in First Aid, Navigation, Communication, GMDSS, DSC VHF and Sea Survival.

It is, in fact, a legal* requirement for all commercial charter operations to provide a certificated skipper for any 'crewed charters', not including bareboat hire.

*MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) and RYA (Royal Yachting Association) requirement, dependant on distance of the charter from port of departure or distance from safe haven.

The Skipper can be assisted by a 'Deck Hand' who will hold either the RYA Yachtmaster, RYA Coastal Skipper or MCA Boatmaster certificates, along with various First Aid and Communication qualifications.

In most instances, both Skipper and Deck Hand will share the same qualifications and experience.

Finally, we can also provide celebrity or sports personality 'Hosts' to share your charter. For example during the 2007 summer season  we provided a charter which was hosted by International Rugby stars Steve Thompson and Mattie Stewart.
